Many manufacturers love to make their product, but do not like to sell it. Tkemali, honey or firewood - this is an understandable job. And calls, correspondence, photos for social networks, delivery around the city and questions “is this really homemade?” They take up time that is already in short supply.
We came up with Bazari Ara to separate these two works. You make a product. We talk about you and sell you. A buyer comes to us on the advice of friends or from an Internet search, and the first thing he sees is your story.
How a buyer finds a farmer today
By word of mouth
A friend tried churchkhela and asked where she got it. The tourist took home honey, and his relatives are asking for more. Previously, they would respond with a phone number, but now they often send a link. It’s easier to send a link to a page where it says who you are, where your business is and how you work than a number, and it’s more pleasant to read than just a price list.
Through an Internet search
People are not looking for a “store”, but for a specific thing: “homemade churchkhela from Kakheti”, “honey from Racha in Tbilisi”, “dry firewood for the fireplace”. Search engines show pages where this is written in words. A search will not read a photo of a can on a white background, but a story about a farm in the village of Mshalgori will.
The site operates in three languages - Russian, English and Georgian, so local buyers, expats and tourists will find you. We do not promise first place in searches: no one can honestly promise it. But we make sure there is something to find about you.
Why story sells
At the market, the buyer sees you, tries you, asks questions. On the Internet he only has a picture. History replaces this conversation: who you are, where you come from, how and what you make the product from, why exactly that. When it is clear who is behind the jar, it is easier to trust it - and they come back to you by name.
Here's how manufacturers who are already working with us talk about it:
“Ever since I was a child, I watched my father go with my grandfather to cut wood,” — farm “Firewood and Coal” from Tbilisi.
“For us, each churchkhela is not just a product, it is family work, Kakheti traditions and love for the business,” “Sweets from Anna” from Gurjaani.
“Members of my family harvest from May to September,” “Family tea” from Guria.
“Our little tasty company is named after two red dogs,” - Gingers, dog treats from Tbilisi.
None of these phrases contain the words “high quality” or “best product.” But after each one you want to know what’s next.
What we do while you do your thing
- Your company pagein the “Farmers” section: your story, photos, all your products.
You still have what you love
We don’t care about the volume: ten cans a month or a hundred. The main thing is that the product is your own and homemade, and better yet, made according to recipes that your parents and grandfathers remember. You still have your customers: the market, neighbors, guests at home. We are adding another channel, not taking away the old ones.
What to tell about yourself
There is no need to write beautifully. Tell us about the farm as you would tell a guest at the table, and we will prepare the text and agree with you. Here's what's worth saying:
-Who are you and how long have you been doing this?Family business, first farm, grandfather’s craft - all this is important.
-Where are you.Village and region. Buyers often search by region: “from Kakheti”, “from Racha”, “from Guria”.
-What and how you make. From what raw materials, manually or on your own equipment, how long does it take to make one batch.
-Whose recipe is thisand what do you never change in it?
-When is the season. If churchkhela is available only in the fall, and the honey runs out by spring, it is better for the buyer to know about this in advance.
-How to store the productand how long it is stored.
-Photos: farming, process, you yourself - if you don’t mind. Phone photos are quite enough.
Write only what is true. The words “bio”, “eco” and “organic” in Georgia can only be used with a certificate - we talked in more detail in the article about nature conservation and pure product. A simple, honest phrase about how you work convinces better than big words.
