We look for flavor, not volume. If you make tkemali from your own plums, cook churchkhela in autumn after rtveli (the grape harvest), keep bees or pick tea with the whole family — and do it the way your parents and grandparents did — this article is for you.
Here's why farmers already work with us, and what we offer those who are still thinking about getting started.
Who's already with us
CH'VENTAN is a family farm in the village of Mskhalgori in Kakheti: a vineyard, qvevri, an orchard and homemade Georgian recipes. The name itself sounds like an invitation: in Georgian, “ch'ventan” means “to our place”. Their tkemali is already on the site, and their qvevri wine will be on sale soon.
“Family Tea” from Guria. Here the whole family picks the tea from May to September, and the owner processes it himself on his own small-scale equipment. On the site you'll find their premium tea and second grade tea.
Both farms are small, and neither ships by the truckload. For us, that's not a drawback; it's the whole point of what we do.
An open platform: what it means
We're open to any honest producer in Georgia. In practice, that means:
- Volume doesn't matter. Ten jars of honey a month or a hundred: both work for us. What matters is consistency: a customer who liked the first jar will come back for a second.
- It has to be your own. You make the product yourself, at your place, to your own recipe. We don't take factory goods passed off as homemade.
- Terms that work for you. We discuss them with each producer individually and lock them in before we start.
- Your customers stay yours. The market, your neighbors, tourists stopping by your house: keep selling to them. We add one more channel; we don't take away the ones you have.
Our Tbilisi warehouse or to order: you choose
There are two ways to work with us, and you can combine them.
- Leave your products at our warehouse in Tbilisi. Orders then go out straight from the city, with no trip to your region, and we deliver them within Tbilisi in 2 hours. The product page shows “In stock”.
- Keep your products at home. We pick them up once a specific order comes in. The product page shows the item as “to order”, so the customer knows the wait will be longer.
You can start with the second option and, once you see which items sell best, move some of them to the warehouse. We store things that keep well: honey, spices, sauces, churchkhela, fruit leather, tea and wine. We don't keep cheese at the warehouse: we sell it by pre-order only.
Your story on your company page
At the market, customers see you. Online, all they see is a jar in a photo. That's why every producer has their own page in the “Farmers” section of the site: who you are, where your farm is, how and from what you make your products, plus photos.
Tell us about your work — how you started, whose recipe it is, what matters to you — and we'll make sure it all goes on your company page. See what it looks like for CH'VENTAN.
The page is in Russian, English and Georgian, so both tourists and local customers can read it.
Your own, homemade, from your ancestors' recipes
The tastiest things people take home from Georgia — honey, churchkhela, tkemali — are more often made by families than by factories. According to the 2024 agricultural census, the country has about 479.5 thousand farms, and the vast majority of them are family farms. We wrote about how they live and the challenges they face in our article on Georgian farmers.
These are exactly the producers we're looking for:
- tkemali and adjika from your own plums and peppers;
- churchkhela and tklapi made at home in autumn;
- honey from your own apiary;
- hand-picked tea;
- wine from your own grapes, including qvevri wine;
- spices and salt made to a family recipe.
Local production that keeps the old recipes alive is what customers come to us for.
